The Governing Body
Mrs Rebecca Harrison
Chair - Co-opted
I live in Bolney with my husband and two boys, who both currently attend the school.
I am a Pharmacist and I've worked in various community pharmacies locally for over fifteen years. I am also a member of the West Sussex local pharmaceutical committee (LPC).
I have been a governor since 2017 and through my work as a governor and as a parent I’ve seen first hand what a fantastic, hard working team there is at the school. The school values of love, respect, honesty and resilience run throughout and I am proud to be part of the governing body. I relish a challenge and would like to have the opportunity to use and develop my skills and knowledge to make a real difference to the children at Bolney CEP school.
Term of office - 8.3.21 - 7.3.2025
Mrs Faye Heath-Lay
Vice Chair - Local Authority Governor
I have lived in Bolney since 2010 with my husband and two sons, who both went to Bolney CEP School.
I am a primary school teacher and a mathematics consultant. I have worked in West Sussex schools for almost 20 years and therefore understand both the joys and the challenges of working in a range of school settings.
I have been a governor since 2014. I want to use my experience to support both the excellent staff and enthusiastic, hard-working children here, to ensure the school continues to be the best it can be.
Term of office - 7.11.18 - 6.11.22
Dr Tony Bond
My wife and I moved to Bolney in summer of 2017. Mainly for family reasons, my daughter lives in Brighton. I was a general practitioner in the Peterborough area for 35 years, during which time I sat on numerous committees involved in trying to deliver top quality health care on ever shrinking and inadequate budgets.
For 16 years I was responsible for the training of young doctors wishing to become GP’s, teaching, supporting and monitoring their education over the 3 year training scheme, having over 40 doctors under my care most of the time!
I am also a lay minister (Reader) in the Church of England for the last 13 years, and have enjoyed excersising that ministry in Bolney and Cowfold since our arrival here.
I am married to Ruth who is an Anglican priest and have 2 grown up children, our daughter locally in Brighton and our son now living and working in Norway.
Term of office - 17.9.2018-16.9.22
Mrs Emma Jones
My name is Emma Jones.I have two children at Bolney.
I have been a qualified teacher since 2003 and have worked at different secondary settings within Sussex during this time.
Working at one of the local secondary schools allows me to be in a unique position in supporting our students from Bolney in their transition to secondary education.
I enjoy working with young people and have a genuine desire to see them achieve their best during their time at school. As a governor I want to work with the school to ensure that all children at Bolney have a positive experience and are equipped in the best possible way when they finish year 6.
Term of office - 4.12.20 - 3.12.2024
Mr Rob Seward
Information to come in due course
Term of office - 4.12.20 - 3.12.2024
Rev Michael Windridge
I was born and brought up in Wolverhampton in the West Midlands and remain a loyal Wolves fan!
After university I spent several terms at a boys’ prep school teaching English and coaching football and cricket to eight to eleven year olds. It has been a great joy to get to know some of the young children of similar age at Bolney School.
My wife Sabrina and I arrived in the Vicarage at Bolney in October 2020. Our 25 year old son Harry lives and works in London. Frustratingly, until now, Covid has severely restricted my association with the school, its staff and its parents.
I was ordained priest in Norwich Cathedral in 1994 and belonged to a ministry team looking after a group of small rural villages. Before coming to Bolney I worked as a parliamentary assistant to a government minister in the House of Commons whilst still helping out in the Norwich Diocese.
I love the way the children refer to me as Reverend Michael. There can be no greater privilege than passing on to them the Gospel message of Christ’s love and forgiveness, especially within the context of such a fine Church of England School.
Term of office 10.1.22 - 9.1.26
Mrs Ros Barton
I have lived in Bolney since 2002 and my son has now left Bolney and in secondary school. I have owned my own Veterinary Clinic in Burgess Hill for the last 15 years and I am patron of the local charity Sussex Caring Pets, who arrange for owners to take their pets into schools, hospitals and care homes to help make people's lives happier, speed recovery and bring a smile to people's faces.
I have been a governor at this school for the last 4 years and have found it both interesting and rewarding. I became a governor to try and improve communication between the school and the parents and I felt my business knowledge could possibly be useful in these hard funding times.
We are fortunate to have such a special school in Bolney , with a very hardworking team striving to give our children the best they can in these challenging times .
Term of office - 7.11.18 - 6.11.22
Mrs Gemma Spencer
I live in Bolney with my husband and our young son Charlie. I have always been a Sussex girl having lived in Haywards Heath for most of my life but made the move to Bolney in 2017 and it was definitely the right choice for us. We love the community spirit here in Bolney and although Charlie isn't old enough to attend Bolney school just yet I hope that one day he will!
I am a Solicitor in Horsham specialising in Wills, Probate and Trusts. My job is very important to me as I really get to know my clients and their families and help them through, what can be, a very challenging time in their lives.
I am delighted to join the Governors of Bolney school and I am keen to support the teachers and pupils in any way that I can.
Term of Office - 9.12.19 - 8.12.2023
Mrs Joanna Glew
I and my husband have called Bolney home for over 20 years and I have been involved with Bolney school as a parent, staff member and Governor at various times through those years.
My three children all attended Bolney and have many happy memories and friendships that have stood the test of time.
I have loved this opportunity to be a part of all aspects of school life , particularly the Gardening Club and over the last 10 years running a prayer club, Hotline to Heaven.
Hotline aims to provide time and space for children or staff to come and explore the concept of prayer in a fun and creative way.
One of the main reasons that I chose to send my children to Bolney was the fact that it was a church school . As a Christian I found the core values at the heart of the school fitted with how I understood the teachings of Christ .
As a Foundation Governor , I hope to try and assist our school in ensuring that, the strong emphasis on Christian values continues , and our link with our church St Mary Magdalene church flourishes as we seek to engage with all in our community.
