We are excited to inform you that our primary school has adopted a new cursive handwriting scheme as part of our ongoing commitment to improving literacy and writing skills across all year groups. This updated approach is designed to provide consistency in how handwriting is taught from the early years onwards, helping children develop clear, legible, and fluent writing.
Research shows that learning cursive can support fine motor development, enhance spelling through muscle memory, and even aid in reading fluency. By introducing this scheme, we aim to build pupils' confidence and pride in their written work, while also preparing them for the demands of future learning.
