(Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator)
At Bolney School we strive to ensure that your children enjoy their learning and fulfil their potential. The staff and governors do their best to ensure that appropriate provision is made for all pupils within a wholly inclusive environment.
In line with the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice, our school S.E.N. policy (available under ‘Policies’) details the procedures we follow to identify and make provision for pupils who may have a special educational need.
All our teachers work hard to ensure that their teaching matches the needs of all learners and they undergo regular training to keep their S.E.N. knowledge up to date therefore enabling them to provide the best for our pupils.
Priorities for admissions – As per Admissions Policy
If there are more applications for places than there are places available, then children will be admitted in accordance with an established set of priorities:
Children who need a place at the school on exceptional and compelling social, psychological or medical grounds OR children with a statement of special educational needs naming the school OR Looked After Children (children in public care).
Keeping you informed
It is our aim to work in partnership with families and young children and to take the time to listen, discuss and plan for the future. We use One-page profiles to share knowledge of how children learn best.
We welcome you in school to talk to us about any issues or concerns whenever you need to. Please speak to your child’s teacher to arrange a suitable time or if you would like to speak with Sarah Harvey, our SENDCO, please see Zoe in the office who will be happy to arrange a time.
