Welcome to Beech Class
Year 2
Friday 11th January 2019

In English we wrote about our brilliant experience of the Dinosaur Dome.  We wrote about what we found out, our favourite part and how it made us feel.  We have spent time editing our work too.

In maths we did another assessment but we also started to explore division and how it links to multiplication.  We used equipment to share into equal groups and we looked at how Bar Models can be used to show division.

We designed topic pages for Land Before Time and discussed what we what to find out.  We talked about Virtues and we had a class debate about the question 'What makes a good life?'  The children offered mature responses and it was an informative and interesting debate.

In P.E we were Dinosaur hunters and fossils!

Thank you for all of your support, Mrs James

Home Learning
Daily reading
Reading Records are a valuable tool for communicating how the children are getting on with reading both at home and in school. They contain questions to help guide the reading.  Reading for pleasure is our goal as always.
Practise the spelling rule sent home each week using the activities suggested.
Times Tables:
Practise times tables so that you are fluent in recalling and applying them, starting with the 2, 5 and 10 times tables.
Topic Grid tasks:
The topic grid has different tasks to choose from. The children are expected to complete at least one task each half term

The Learning Logs can be taken home every day if you would like to use them for other activities.
