Autumn Term - Great Fire of London

Our Learning
In year 1 we have been writing facts about the Great Fire of London, editing and improving our writing.
In year R we have been reading and ordering numbers to 10.  
In year R we have been measuring and comparing lengths, ordering items by length and using language of comparison, such as shorter, longer. 
In year 1 we have been subtracting numbers, counting back on numberlines.  
In year 1 we have been looking at the relationship between addition and subtraction.
We have been rehearsing for our KeyStage 1 Nativity.
We have been colouring, using hot and cold colours.  
We have been creating a Great Fire of London scene, using paint and collage in hot colours.
We have been using dance and movement to represent scenes from the Great Fire of London.

Home Learning
Please read with your child every day. 
Ask them questions about what they have read and write in their diaries. 
Play games to help them to develop turn taking and listening to others.
Notice numbers out and about and try counting and writing numbers to 6, to 10 and beyond. 
Talk to them about what they see around them.
