Trip to Eastridge Manor

On Friday 14th June 2019, some of our Y5 children excitedly made a return visit to Eastridge Manor Care Home and were again welcomed by the staff and residents. The children had considered what they would like to take to share and we had a range of creative writing, home-grown crystals, painting, books and more!  We even picked some of our roses which were enjoyed by many.  Enid, a former dancer, offered Hattie and Emily some dance lessons from the comfort of her chair before taking to handrails for some ballet bar work!  This amazed us all especially as her carer had said "but Enid you can't walk".  It just goes to show what can be achieved with interest and passion.  Another lady, Pip, describe the children as a breath of fresh air and so full of zest and life.  June continued with her valuable life lessons - "you gotta work hard and don't let anyone tell you you can't do it".

We hope to make one more visit before the end of term and to continue it next term.
